Spring Wardrobe

Spring is finally here!!
I’m happy about that apart from the hayfever and the need to expose skin that hasn’t seen sunlight for some time.

Florals are in, but I can’t overcome Meryl Streeps line in The Devil Wears Prada “Florals? For spring? Ground breaking”.

I’m heading to Paddington markets and Oxford street in Sydney this Saturday so hopefully they’ll be some good finds.

Maybe I’ll find something that will transform me into a cool, modern stylish Italian girl just like the one below.

Nicole Richie & Winter Kate

It all started with a fresh, new e-mail from Paula Joyce’s website Lifestyled, admiring Nicole Richie’s style as she flew into town to open the new Mid City Centre in Pitt Street, Sydney.

I’d recently been considering purchasing a House of Harlow piece of jewellery for a friend’s birthday but couldn’t commit to it. What if she didn’t like it?  This email resurfaced those lustful feelings for anything Nicole Richie. I was in trouble.

Winter Kate is Nicole’s clothing label and…I loves it! So I started searching on Ebay for any marked down pieces and discovered this jasmine cardigan for $160AU, only problem is it’s a size too big. It retails for $216US on Shopbop. I’m trying to convince myself its an investment purchase, it suits my style, it would be comfortable, it’s silk so could be worn in summer or winter…I could go on.

After browsing more on Shopbop I discovered a similar top for $146US. It’s short-sleeved and doesn’t have the long draping on the front. More convenient for summer? Perhaps.

So now I ask, what would you do?

Go for the cheaper version that’s still pretty special, or go all out? Do you even find the Winter Kate label appealing or is it all a clever celebrity spin?

Yours truly
